Album of a Chinese American student and athlete, from his San Francisco school days and on the campuses of U.C. Berkeley and Stanford. Comparison of images to Berkeley's annuals suggests David Harfong Lee as the compiler, a civil engineering student at U.C., ca.1928 and again in 1934-1935. Many snapshots and portraits are present, with Chinese American youth basketball games and track races. Views include the Chinese Methodist Episcopal Church (San Francisco), outings in Golden Gate Park and around the Bay Area, Mount Tamalpais, Sunday school picnics, a 1923 Christmas pageant with a Chinese American nativity scene, and a youth work group maintaining a Chinese cemetery. Berkeley campus views during the 1920s are present, and group portraits of the Chinese Students Club (1925), Pi Alpha Phi (Asian American fraternity, 1928), and the 1925 CSA (Chinese Students Association?) conference at Stanford. Many sports views are of teams of the Chinese Christian Institute (a high school on Stockton Street, San Francisco?) and possibly a Chinese American YMCA. Some camping trip snapshots and football snapshots are also present.

Title devised by cataloger. Previously assigned and incorrect title "Wong school days..." was derived from dealer's description.

Album apparently compiled by David Harfong Lee, U.C. Berkeley class of 1934. At one time mis-attributed to Pearson Wong, who is pictured in several photographs.

One page bearing a portrait is inscribed with Chinese characters, apparently comprising a May 1919 poem referencing ten years away from an unidentified place.
